Thank you to the 18,448 who voted for me March 4! I'm humbled and
honored by your support!
Yesterday was March 6 and it was a big day. We were able to work with the
Ohio EPA to get an extension of the comment period for new regulations on
wood-fired boilers, many of which are located in my District. The effort grew
out of your comments at my recent Town Hall meetings. That's why I have
them; to listen to you and give you a voice in Columbus.
In addition, we received news that a vital program in the Department of Aging,
which is used to leverage millions of dollars to help our seniors, will not suffer
the budget ax. It was efforts from folks like you, as well as my office and other
legislators' offices that helped save these vital programs.
I plan to start knocking on your doors again in April. In 2006, I hit more than
6,000 doors, and I want to exceed that number this time! I look forward to
running a strong, grassroots campaign this fall, emphasizing our achievements
both in the past year as well as those to come.
I hope you will become active members of my campaign to complete the
change in legislative leadership that began with Gov. Ted Strickland's and our
victories in 2006. We are only four seats away from removing from power the
folks who have ignored Ohio's challenges for too long, especially the school
funding crisis. I would ask for your support not only for me, but for the other
candidates who can bring about the change in legislative priorities we all need to
see, like Celeste DeHoff just south of us in Stark County, and Mike Moran,
just north of us in my childhood home of Hudson. So stop by often, see how
Ohio's new direction is taking shape, and let's move this state forward.
